Moms Need a Break too- 3 Ways to Know it’s Time

breaktime

Mom’s need breaks too! We are not Superhero’s, no matter how many times our littles tell us that we are. I have endlessly gone on and on about “The Importance of Me time” and how you can be a better Mom if you relax and I am not about to stop now. Nope. Not anytime soon!

I am going to say it again! Mom’s need a break too! Now, let’s be honest. I do not always follow my own advice, maybe that’s why I feel the need to scream it at you guys. Maybe it’s because I KNOW I need the time to myself and yet I find myself rarely taking it. No matter what the reason is, the fact of the matter remains….

YOU NEED TO TAKE TIME FOR YOURSELF!

Are you unsure if you really need me time? Do you question yourself when you take it? Then we need to talk. There are a few ways to know if it’s time to take time for yourself, so let’s discuss shall we?

3 Ways to Know it’s Time to Take a Break

1. You talk to yourself, and then respond… to yourself- This happens frequently when the children are no listening to you. Example: You: “What, am I talking to a wall?” You: “Yes, Yes You are, because no one else listens to you anyways. You: “Did I seriously just answer myself?” You: “Did I SERIOUSLY just ask myself a question?”….. then you shush yourself….

 2. You Put Your Clothes on Backwards… and leave the house that way- No Seriously. That has happened to me, and I am telling you this is a KEY sign to relax in a hot bath with a glass (or bottle) of wine.  This also applies to putting your clothes on inside out, mismatching your attire and dropping your kids off to school in your pajamas. (I am not judging you, this section sounds like my daily routine lately.)

3. You Walk Around all day with Blue Icing on your Face- You decide to get a head start on baking for your son’s class party in the morning and then run out the door to take your son to school, and proceed with your busy day. You don’t realize that you have had blue icing stuck to your face, and not just a little bit of it… Until bedtime.

These are some of my main warning signs that I need to take a break, even if it’s just a small one.

How do you know it’s Time for a Break?

Oh I know it’s time for a break when I feel my voice getting louder every time I talk. This week has been like that.

It is time for a break when my patience is gone to 0 or everything bugs me.

Ha ha ha, I laugh because I totally know what you’re talking about. I’ve left the house in my slippers before

Haha. I have left the house with my shirt on inside out. 😉

LOL!! Those are great signs that you definitely need a break, even just a small one. 🙂 For me, it’s time to take a break if I start to contemplate my laptop going through my kitchen window. 😉
