I know, for us, we like to spend the day with the kids and do some fun things together. After the kids go to bed, we then settle down with a glass of wine and watch a movie. No fireworks. No incredibly romantic gestures. Just together. That’s perfect to me.

10 Family Valentine’s Day Ideas

1. Make a Special Breakfast Together

Heart shaped pancakes with strawberry hearts and a little whipped cream make an amazing Family Valentine’s Day Breakfast!

2. Do a Family Craft

Buy a large canvas and create a lovely piece of art as your family that can be hung on the wall. Using your hands dipped in paint to create heart shapes on the canvas, is a lot of fun and can make some awesome wall art!

Check out some awesome Valentine’s Day Recipes that you can make with your family. Set to work making the treats together. Get your hands dirty, have a flour fight. You may end up with a few hubby flour hand prints on your bottom… That’s ok just wipe em off! Just let go and have fun.

4. Decorate Together

You can use some time to make your own Valentine’s Day decorations and decorate the house! Put up some streamers, wrap each other in streamers… Just enjoy!

5. Make Special Drinks

If you live far away from your family, use face time or another application to video chat with the rest of your family and spread the love!

8. Have a Dance Party

Make a playlist of fantastic songs and have a dance party with your family in the living room. Put your dancing shoes on and boogie on down. Have a dance competition even, winner gets more treats!

We actually don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day in our house, but we do many of these things for the other holidays we do celebrate.

I love this. We tried for YEARS to have kids. Now that we have our two, Valentine’s Day feels like a day to celebrate our love for each other. All of us, not just my husband and I. We don’t even try to go out for V-day anymore. ๐Ÿ™‚

They don’t know it, but we are doing heart shaped pancakes with sprinkles for breakfast and a special dinner (not cooked by me!). And of course, chocolate!

we don’t usually do much for Valentine’s Day. We don’t go out since it is hard to get a babysitter. We will have a nice dinner and a movie.(kid Friendly of course)

Such great ideas not just for Valentine’s Day but for all year long! I love the idea of getting dressed up and going for dinner. We go for dinner fairly often but not dressed up in our finest. ๐Ÿ™‚

I love all of these ideas! Especially since a lot of these things can be done without spending any money! We alway usually have a special breakfast of homemade waffles with strawberries and whipped cream. And if everyone is too rushed in the morning, then we have it for dinner! Happy Valentine’s Day! <3
