Toonies for Tummies- Twitter Chat Jan 27 9pm ET #Toonies4Tummies
Toonies for Tummies is asking for your help!
I was quite surprised to hear that 1 in 6 Children in Canada are unsure where their next meal is coming from. As a Canadian parent, this is very upsetting.
I was aware there is a problem, but entirely unaware of the actual statistics!
To think that there are so many Canadian Children out there going without meals is heart wrenching. ANY Children going without meals is awful, and this is just so close to home.
When I was a child, I had a friend, I won’t mention names or ages or genders… but this friend NEVER had a lunch. In fact, this friend used to come to my house for lunch all the time. (I lived down the street from the school.) My Dad would ensure that we had a nice warm, delicious lunch to fill our hungry bellies and back off to school we would go.
I will never forget that friend. Ever.
I am so excited to participate in the Toonies for Tummies campaign and hope you will be too.
