New Year New Resolutions
Last Year around this time I wrote about New Year New Resolutions and How to Keep them. This year I have all intentions of telling you great ways to reflect on the year passed in a positive way and grow from it. Resolutions are great and all, however reflection is also very important when it comes to living in a positive manner.
Reflecting on the year passed can be a fantastic way to connect with the loved ones you are spending your New Years Eve with and a very positive way to end the year.
Ask Questions – There are several different questions you can ask yourself and your loved ones this New Years to help yourself and others reflect on the positives of 2012. Ask Questions such as: What was the single MOST positive moment of 2012 for you and your family? What important Milestones occurred for you or your family in 2012? Asking these questions is a fantastic way to reflect on the positives of the year and bring up amazing memories.
Look at Pictures – Look at your favorite pictures from 2012. Reflect on the moment they were taken, what you were doing, who you were with etc. I always found looking at pictures as a great way to remind myself of fantastic things that happened throughout the year.
Reflection is a fantastic way to not only remember the positives of 2012 but it’s also a fantastic way to learn more about yourself. This year I will focus on the positives while surrounding myself with the people that are important to me and I hope that you can also do the same.
What are some ways you spend your New Years?
I’m not big on resolutions for the new year but I am all for looking back and reflecting. I think it’s important to remember all of the good things that happened and be grateful for them and also to think about things you might want to do differently in the future.
I don’t do resolutions but I like the idea of using an empty jar and putting in your accomplishments or happy moments through out the year and then opening the jar to read on Dec.31/13 to read them.
We’ll be home relaxing 🙂
For the last three years, I’ve made a photobook at the end of each year. It’s a fun way to look back at the year and reflect on what happened. 🙂
I don’t do anything. Which is awful. Maybe that will be my New Years Resolution.
p.s first time visitor.
We are going to friends at 5:30 – we will eat, skate in the backyard, play games, have snacks…then we will come home at 10:30 or 11, put the kids to bed and then hubby and I will cozy up on the couch and watch a movie!
