Merry Christmas from our family to yours!
I just wanted to take a second and wish all my wonderful, friends, family and readers a very merry Christmas, a happy holidays, a fantastic day and a fabulous time with those near and dear to your heart.
Our Holidays have changed over the years. Every Christmas was spent lugging the Children all over the place visiting family. We soon decided after that on Christmas Day, we would stay home. Yes, we want to see everyone but in all honesty on Christmas day, we just really enjoy spending time together and it’s much less stressful than driving hours and hours around on a busy day that the kids and quite honestly, us, want to just relax and enjoy ourselves. So, instead we make christmas day a day for our small family, and go and visit other days. In fact, I make sure to invite people to come visit us here. It’s a little bit less stressful as then we don’t have to pack the kitchen sink!
We have had a great day so far, the kids didn’t wake up too early which was quite surprising as they were bouncing off the walls with excitement last night. However, we got up around 8am and started our Christmas morning traditions. Our family takes this time to just enjoy each other, we started the morning with our traditional breakfast and then move on to opening our gifts. We usually spend the rest of the day together as a family just assembling toys, playing with them, eating, laughing, talking and loving each other.
Our favourite things about Christmas are pretty straight forward. The food is delicious! I mean, who doesn’t love a great Christmas dinner? I know we do. Egg nog! I know that Egg nog is kind of an acquired taste but we just love it. We are also very happy to have this time to spend together. With our daily lives being full, this break is a welcomed one.
