Grilled Cheese with Apple Recipe – Delicious, Cheesy and Yummy

Grilled Cheese with Apple is actually amazing. We love Sandwich Recipes that help us make dinner comforting and delicious. Welcome Back To What’s For Dinner Wednesday! Tonight is going to be an interesting evening. It’s already 5:40Pm and an idea for Dinner escapes me. Little Man hasn’t been feeling well either. On top of that I have some shopping to do tonight. In order to shop I have to wait for Husband/Daddy to come home from work. Which, might I add… he is later than usual.  So.. I think tonight is going to be very quick, very easy and very NOW! Nights like this make me want to say “Nope, not cooking!” Making grilled cheese isn’t necessarily hard though. It doesn’t have to be hard to be good and this Grilled Cheese is not only easy but amazingly delicious.

Our Meal Plan tonight!??

Grilled Cheese and Apple Sandwiches.

Yes, you heard me. Grilled Cheese and Apple Sandwiches! Little man LOVES these and totally can’t wait for me to make them. In fact, they are his favorite thing to eat for lunch and dinner and I positive that if I let him, he would also eat them for breakfast. I can’t say I blame him I love them too. People may call me crazy for putting apples in a grilled cheese, but go ahead because I am telling you. DELICIOUS.

These are so good, they don’t even need to be drowned in ketchup. Like at all. So great. In fact, this would make an awesome addition to some homemade soup, but I am not going that far tonight at all.

So, Grilled Cheese and Apple it is and we are certainly going to enjoy every single bite. Mmmm melty cheddar cheese and crisp apple. All mounted on perfectly grilled bread. Delicious.

Ingredients
  1. 8 slices whole wheat bread
  2. 2 tablespoons olive oil
  3. 2 Macintosh Apples - peeled, cored and thinly sliced
  4. 1-1/3 cups shredded Cheddar Cheese
Instructions
  1. Preheat a skillet over medium heat and lightly brush one side of each slice of bread with the olive oil. Place 1 slice of bread, olive oil side down into the skillet, and arrange the apple slices evenly over the top. Sprinkle the cheese over the apple and then top with the remaining slice of bread, olive oil-side up. Cook until the bread is golden brown, then flip the sandwich over, and cook until the other side is golden brown and the cheese has melted, 1 to 2 more minutes. Repeat this process for ALL the sandwiches - this makes 4. (You can also grill the bread, which we choose to do frequently)
