DIY Christmas Wreath

Who doesn’t want a DIY Christmas Wreath for their door? Last year we were searching everywhere to purchase a pre-made, yet pretty wreath and really found nothing worth purchasing under $30.00. Being that I am pretty darned cheap, and LOVE doing crafts with my Little ones. I decided right there and then that I was going to find cheap supplies and craft my own wreath!

I am in fact going to make more for my back door this year as I really am impressed with how well it stood storage for the year as well. I am happy to say being frugal worked out for us big time and I think it’s pretty enough to display.

No one can believe that I made it myself for under $5.00! Which is a good thing!

DIY Christmas Wreath

What You Need:

1 long green garland (or any colour, get creative!)

1 green garland with wire in it (or any colour, again go for it!)

Some craft ribbon, we choose the kind with the wire in the sides to keep it stiff

A bow, we choose red and gold to go with the accents

Some tiny accent pieces, we went with “Sleigh Bells”

Some Twist ties

What You Do:

I used the Green wire garland as a base and fashioned it into a circle, wrapping it around itself kind of weaving it in and out. I then used the regular garland, wrapping it around weaving around the wire one and tying it in at the bottom with a twist tie.

I then wrapped the craft ribbon around it loosely and evenly and secured it in the same place I secured the garland using another twist tie.

Then, I attached the bow where the stuff was secured with the twist tie and VOILA!

Afterwards, I took the bells and tied them onto the branches, ensuring the ties were covered by the garland.

FINITO!

I used a “wreath hanger” I had around the house to put it on the door! In 20 mins I had a wreath that I had made for about $5.00

We love our Wreath! What are some of your favorite Holiday Touches?
