New Years With Netflix – Countdown Earlier With Your Kids #StreamTeam

It’s almost that time of year again! New Years eve is fast approaching and your kids want to countdown with you into the new year. Netflix has been providing an “earlier” solution for us parents that just want to get their kids into bed in good time, even on New Years eve, for the last few years.

New Years

We, being the parents that want to spend time with their kids, but also don’t want to spend the first day of 2017 with two very over tired youngins’… have been using the New Years Netflix solution.

Netflix is helping all families manage New Year’s Eve by creating 10 on demand countdowns for kids. Kids get to celebrate with mom and dad, and parents get the kids to bed before midnight – it is a win-win for everyone. This year’s countdowns are based on some of kids’ favorite shows: Word Party, Puffin Rock, Luna Petunia, Beat Bugs, All Hail King Julien, Skylanders Academy, Trollhunters, Project Mc2, Fuller House and Chasing Cameron.

Let’s face it though, sometimes, us parents don’t take our own advice and stay up a little too late ringing in the New Year! This year Netflix has decided to make parents’ lives a tid bit easier… the next morning too! Yep, you heard me. Not only is it helpful, but it’s EASY! Parents can print and cut out their very own Netflix Door Sign from the comfort of their own home. Us parents can then hang it on our bedroom doors before hitting then hay on New Year’s Eve… When your kids wake up and realize that they can watch back-to-back episodes of the shows listed on the door sign… they may grant you some extra snooze time.

Fun Fact: There’s a big spike in kids content viewing on New Year’s Day, making Jan. 1st one of the most watched days of kids content on Netflix. In fact, according to viewership data, total viewing of kids content on New Year’s Day 2016 exceeded nearly every single weekend day in 2015.
